DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:
  • Perform all of the Systems Administrator duties and support the integration of new technologies into new and existing systems
  • Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software problems involving the application, the operating system, the hardware, and/or the communications infrastructure
  • Install, connect, configure, troubleshoot, and perform routine maintenance of operating system, software, hardware, third party COTS, and firmware on systems located on multiple networks
  • Perform security patches and upgrades
  • Maintain virtual systems, network switches, and data protection to include backups, data/disaster recovery, and data flow
  • Maintain all system documentation including certification and accreditation documents
  • Assist in database administrator duties, including maintenance, configuration, back-ups, and troubleshooting/resolving technical issues
  • Provides Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Exchange Server, Office 365, Microsoft Azure, SCCM Tier 2/3 support to group customers in an enterprise environment.
  • Troubleshoot, debug server based application(s) and/or IT infrastructure component(s)
  • Performs occasional after hour tasks, including but not limited to, restarting systems, application upgrades, hardware maintenance, etc.
  • Ensures all necessary documentation to operate and maintain the equipment and/or software is regularly maintained.
  • Performs performance monitoring and provides documentation of issues and recommendations to IT management.
  • Maintain and patch systems, software and applications to eliminate bug fixes, security vulnerabilities and maintain technology currency of systems and applications.
  • Participates in change management processes to include patch compliance which also includes Information Assurance Validation Testing.
  • Candidate should possess strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to participate in technical meetings.

REQUIREMENTS

Desired Skills and Experience:
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience is required
  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows architecture, design, implementation and management
  • 5+ years’ experience with Windows Systems Administration
  • Understanding of networking (L2-L3), TCP/IP, Internet Services (DNS, Load Balancing), and Firewalls.
  • Experience in managing Microsoft Active Directory to include implementation of GPOs, DHCP, DNS, Domain Controller replication, and organization unit management.
  • Experience in managing Windows systems running Windows Server 2008/2008 R2, Windows Server 2012/2012 R2 and Windows Server 2016
  • Experience in Operations and Maintenance; applying patches, fixes and security updates to Windows servers.
  • Experience in building, configuring, and managing Microsoft Windows servers in a multi-tenant enterprise environments
  • Experience in Enterprise Backup software to include Symantec Backup Exec, and Symantec NetBackup etc.
  • Experience in documentation of SOP guidelines, system procedures and baseline OS image
  • Experience administering Office 365 and Microsoft Azure
  • Experience administering Microsoft Exchange in a hybrid environment
  • High skill with Windows operating system commands/utilities/PowerShell (must - all applicants will be asked to read and write scripts during the interview process)

‘Gift’ to Obasanjo: Atiku’s son-in-law charged afresh with money laundering

Abdullahi Babalele, son-in-law of Atiku Abubakar was docked today on a new charge of laundering $140,000. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission who brought him before Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, did not state the recipient of the money, but it fits the N50million gift sent by Atiku to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, days before the election. Babalele faces a two-count charge bordering on money laundering to the tune of $140,000.00. He allegedly persuaded one Bashir Mohammed, a Bureau De Change( BDC) operator, to make a cash payment of the sum of $140,000 without going through any financial institution, an offence contrary to Section 18(c) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2011 as amended and punishable under Section 16(2)(b) of the same Act. US appears to back Zimbabwe coup as top official says it wants a "new era"

The United states appears to have thrown its weight behind the military coup which brought Robert Mugabe's 37 year reign to an end. In an interview with Reuters, acting Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Donald Yamamoto said: "It's a transition to a new era for Zimbabwe, that's really what we're hoping for."93-year old Mugabe has not resigned or been formally deposed but Yamamoto appeared to dismiss the idea of Mugabe remaining in a transitional or ceremonial role. South Africa’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Bobby Monroe, has denied reports of Xenophobic attacks in his country. Monroe denied that the attacks in South Africa are xenophobic and targetted at Nigerians. India and Nigeria Set To Sign Bilateral Air Services Agreement

India and Nigeria are set to sign Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) before the end of January that would enable direct flights between the two countries, the Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Abhay Thakur has said. Thakur said this to newsmen at an event to commemorate the World Hindi Day and Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Abuja on Wednesday night. The high commissioner said that the BASA was part of pending agreements to be signed between both countries. A Nigerian, Job Oyebisi, who won the 2018 Idea Change Lives British Council global competition, was yesterday awarded a cash prize of £20,000 for emerging champion. Oyebisi, who runs StanLab, a 3D virtual science laboratory, is also a joint winner of the competition with ‘Malawi’s mHub’. He won the championship that featured over 170 countries by creating a viable solution that would enhance secondary school students get acquitted with new learning skills in laboratory technology.
