South Africa’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Bobby Monroe, has denied reports of Xenophobic attacks in his country. Monroe denied that the attacks in South Africa are xenophobic and targetted at Nigerians. The Commissioner made the comments at a media briefing with Nigeria’s foreign affairs ministry headed by Geoffery Onyeama. He described the attacks as ‘sporadic acts of violence’ adding that businesses belonging to other South Africans were also affected in the violence. Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, has condemned the recent Xenophobic attacks on Nigerians living in South Africa, Igbere TV reports. Igbere TV had earlier reported that properties worth millions of naira, and belonging to Nigerians, were set ablaze by South Africans. A viral video sighted by Igbere TV also showed several shops being looted by the angry South African citizens in their large numbers. President of the Nigeria Union in South Africa, Adetola Olubajo, said the attacks began on Sunday morning in Jeppestown area of Johannesburg. Mr Olubajo said in a statement on Monday that the mob “looted several shops that were around the vicinity suspected to be owned by foreign nationals.” Reacting to the development on his Facebook page, Governor Okowa called on the federal government to rise and protect its citizens. “I condemn in the strongest possible terms the repeated violent attacks against Nigerians in South Africa. A baby born with a football-sized cyst on her neck is finally going home after a team of 40 doctors removed the growth from her neck in a gruelling operation. Parents feared the worst when little Bella-Rose Burress was delivered with a growth that was twice the size of her own head. But the one-week-old child has made a full recovery after the meticulous operation in Chicago, Illinois, was successful on August 27. Doctors diagnosed Bella-Rose with cystic hygroma - a collection of fluid-filled sacs - at Ms Pilarski's 20-week scan. At that time the growth measured 6cm but more than doubled to 13cm by the time she was born. A team of 40 doctors battle to cut the cyst from Bella-Rose's neck after her birth last week. The women were seen all busy showing their twerking skills to the admiration of onlookers. Some even came out from a big bus and joined in the twerking commotion. One was seen mounting on another woman and twerked on her. This has sparked reactions as seen below. Nigerians Protest At UK Embassy Over $9.6bn Judgement (Photos)

Protesters have stormed the United Kingdom High Commission in Abuja over a court judgement which granted Process and Industrial Development Ltd to take over $9.6 billion worth of Nigeria’s asset. The protesters, identified as Coalition of Civil Society Groups, began their protest on Monday and have vowed to continue their action for the next one week until the judgement is reversed. Some of their placards read: “$9.6bn judgement is a fraud,” “Nigeria and Britain are friends, not enemies,” “No to illegal takeover of our national assets,” “Nigeria rejects fraudulent judgment from British judge.”
