Serena Williams has said she is a victim of "discrimination" as she is the most drug tested American tennis player.   The 23-time Grand Slam singles champion made the claim in a series of tweets on Tuesday, after doping officials visited her.  Serena had previously expressed frustration about the volume of her tests earlier this month.  "Out of all the players it's been proven I'm the one getting tested the most. Discrimination? I think so,"  she said. An article published by website Deadspin in June revealed that Williams had been tested out of competition by the US Anti-Doping Agency (Usada) on five occasions in 2018. It also claimed the player was not present when Usada officials visited her home on 14 June - Williams stated that the tester showed up 12 hours earlier than the agreed time. Victims of domestic violence to enjoy paid leave in New Zealand

Victims of domestic violence in New Zealand will now be allowed to take up to 10 days paid leave from work to try to escape the abuse. This is part of a scheme to address the nation’s "shocking" levels of family violence.  Introducing the scheme, which is the first in the developed world, Greens MP Jan Logie, a member of the ruling Labour-led coalition, said the leave would help victims to move homes or settle children into new schools. She said it would also help to protect victims from abusers, who often stalked them at work or tried to sabotage their careers. "This is a win for victims, a win for employers, and a win for society," she said.  "This law is a world first and it will make a significant difference for people trying to escape domestic violence." Cristiano Ronaldo  has emerged on the top spot of   Instagram Sport Rich List  for 2018 ahead of rivals   Lionel Messi   and  Neymar. According to HopperHQ.com, an Instagram scheduling tool, that analyses data to reveal a list of the highest paid celebrities and influencers on the social media platform, brands will have to pay Cristiano Ronaldo $750,000 per post on his Instagram page. Neymar, Lionel Messi and  David Beckham  and  Gareth Bale  also made it to top of the sporting list. Posts on Neymar and Messi's accounts would be worth $600,000 and $500,000 respectively. David Beckham could charge $300,000 while a sponsored post on Gareth Bale's profile would be a costly $185,000, according to the report.

According to reports in Italy, Inter Milan is said to be plotting an audacious swoop for Ronaldo's fierce rival, following comments made by Pirelli CEO and Inter fan  Marco Tronchetti Provera. Marco Tronchetti hinted that the club's owners want to make a 'huge signing'.  'I hope that Suning, once Financial Fair Play will allow it, can make a huge signing,' said the CEO. 'Messi? Libya Coast Guard rescues 16 Europe-bound Nigerians, 24 other migrants from the Mediterranean sea

Sabratha vessel of Tripoli Coast Guard managed to rescue 40 illegal immigrants including Nigerians,  from the Mediterranean while on their way to Europe. The rescue operation took place on Saturday north of the city of Zuwara, the Libyan Navy Information Office said. The office added that the migrants were found on board a rubber boat, pointing out that among them were 31 men, 8 women, and a child. The office explained that the migrants were of different nationalities, including 5 women, 11 men from Nigeria, 15 men, 3 women and one child from Morocco, in addition to 4 men from Egypt and a Syrian. The migrants were provided with humanitarian and medical assistance before being transferred to Tajoura Immigration Centre

Yesterday, Iranian President   Hassan Rouhani  warned the United States that it could shut down international oil shipments in the strategic Strait of Hormuz if Washington continued to provoke Tehran. "We have always guaranteed the security of this strait. Do not play with the lion's tail; you will regret it forever" Rouhani told diplomats in the Iranian capital. The Iranian president has previously threatened to close the strait in response to US President Donald Trump's threat to stop Iranian oil exports through the waterway. The strait is one of the world's most important maritime trade routes and connects the oil-rich Persian Gulf to the Indian Ocean. However, President Trump wasn't going to be threatened and he responded with a very stern warning to Iran never to threaten the United States again.

IMF boss, Christine Lagarde escapes death after her plane made an emergency landing in Argentina

The Managing Director of International Monetary Fund (IMF), Christine Lagarde narrowly escaped death after an American Airlines plane she boarded from Argentina to the U.S., made an emergency landing in the Argentine airport on Sunday due to malfunction. Local newspapers Clarin and La Nacion and local television station TN reported the flight, which was destined for the United States, experienced a drop in cabin pressure about 200 km (124 miles) north of the Argentine capital and returned to Ezeiza to land.   Lagarde had been in Argentina over the weekend for the G-20 meeting of finance ministers and central bank presidents.

Shocking moment woman attacks man on a bus for refusing to give up his seat for her

Chivalry is one thing but forcing people to do things for you is simply bullying. And that's exactly what a very rude woman was filmed doing on a bus. The woman, in yellow, is seen attacking a male passenger because he refused to give up his seat for her. In the video, the woman is seen as she drags the man from his seat, then when he refuses to let her have his seat, she then proceeds to sit on his lap. "Get off of me," the man warns. "Make me!" she tosses back at him and continued sitting on his lap. She then stands and says, "You're supposed to have some respect for women." She continues to attack him verbally and physically. When the man didn't rise to the bait, she picks a magazine, believed to be the one he had been reading before she attacked him, and she throws it in his face. Other commuters looked at them as the drama played out but no one interfered.
