Us consul General, John Bray visits King Ateke Tom at his palace (Photos)

Last week, the US Consul General John F Bray and his team paid a courtesy visit to HRM King Ateke Michael Tom at his palace in Okochiri Kingdom, Okrika.
During the visit, the Consul general was entertained with some cultural display. He was also taken round town to see how the Okochiri Kingdom has developed within the short period of King Ateke Tom reign.
He also visited King Ateke Tom’s private Mini zoo.

Former WBA world super-middleweight champion,  George Groves  has announced his retirement from boxing four months after losing his WBA belt to fellow Briton Callum Smith. 30-year old Groves, who became world champion at the fourth attempt when he beat Russia’s  Fedor Chudinov  in Sheffield in 2017, said he wanted to go out at the top.   “I don’t want there to be a time where I’m ‘too old’ to box on, or where an injury retires me in or out of the ring,” he said in a statement on his Instagram account. The JAMB/UTME is once again upon us. JAMB commenced the sale of registration forms, for the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, on Thursday January 10, 2019. Due to some difficulties associated with the registration, it comes as no surprise that candidates still find it difficult to register. Northern Italy Quarantines 16 Million People over Coronavirus

Italy has placed up to 16 million people under quarantine as it battles to contain the spread of coronavirus. Anyone living in Lombardy and 14 other central and northern provinces will need special permission to travel. Milan and Venice are both affected. Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte also announced the closure of schools, gyms, museums, nightclubs and other venues across the whole country. The measures, the most radical taken outside China, will last until 3 April. Italy has seen the largest number of coronavirus cases in Europe and reported a steep rise in infections on Saturday. The strict new quarantine measures affect a quarter of the Italian population and centre on the northern part of the country that powers its economy. The death toll in Italy has passed 230, with officials reporting more than 36 deaths in 24 hours. The number of confirmed cases jumped by more than 1,200 to 5,883 on Saturday.
