Us consul General, John Bray visits King Ateke Tom at his palace (Photos)

Last week, the US Consul General John F Bray and his team paid a courtesy visit to HRM King Ateke Michael Tom at his palace in Okochiri Kingdom, Okrika.
During the visit, the Consul general was entertained with some cultural display. He was also taken round town to see how the Okochiri Kingdom has developed within the short period of King Ateke Tom reign.
He also visited King Ateke Tom’s private Mini zoo.

Doctor beheaded by boyfriend after she refused to marry him

A junior doctor was beheaded by her boyfriend after she refused to marry him, police say. The boyfriend then tried to take his own life but failed. 26-year-old Shyngys Bekenov, a teacher, proposed to his girlfriend Nazerke Bekzhanova, 21, who had recently graduated from medical university in Kazakhstan. But Nazerke refused to accept the proposal because her parents did not approve of him, it is believed. Angered by her rejection, Shyngys severed his girlfriend's head as they sat in his car. He then tried but failed to end his own life by stabbing himself in the abdomen after writing a suicide note asking that they should be buried together, according to police. His note claimed he had beheaded the woman after she told him she would marry him, it was reported. A man was seriously humiliated after he was caught having sex with a married woman. According to reports, the duo were caught while romping in an uncompleted building. The man who was caught unclad with his married lover, was forced out of the uncompleted building without his clothes on - in a bid to shame him alongside his partner. A newlywed couple have become the couple with the most short-lived marriage after they divorced just 3 minutes after getting married. Only seconds after they signed their marriage contract in a courthouse, the wife tripped and the groom called his new wife 'stupid' for tripping over. In tears, the bride demanded an annulment. Local media reports that the judge officiating the ceremony dissolved their marriage on the spot. They had only been married for three minutes and this leaves them with the shortest partnership in Kuwaiti legal history .
