IMF boss, Christine Lagarde escapes death after her plane made an emergency landing in Argentina

The Managing Director of International Monetary Fund (IMF), Christine Lagarde narrowly escaped death after an American Airlines plane she boarded from Argentina to the U.S., made an emergency landing in the Argentine airport on Sunday due to malfunction.

Local newspapers Clarin and La Nacion and local television station TN reported the flight, which was destined for the United States, experienced a drop in cabin pressure about 200 km (124 miles) north of the Argentine capital and returned to Ezeiza to land.  

Lagarde had been in Argentina over the weekend for the G-20 meeting of finance ministers and central bank presidents.

Doctor beheaded by boyfriend after she refused to marry him

A junior doctor was beheaded by her boyfriend after she refused to marry him, police say. The boyfriend then tried to take his own life but failed. 26-year-old Shyngys Bekenov, a teacher, proposed to his girlfriend Nazerke Bekzhanova, 21, who had recently graduated from medical university in Kazakhstan. But Nazerke refused to accept the proposal because her parents did not approve of him, it is believed. Angered by her rejection, Shyngys severed his girlfriend's head as they sat in his car. He then tried but failed to end his own life by stabbing himself in the abdomen after writing a suicide note asking that they should be buried together, according to police. His note claimed he had beheaded the woman after she told him she would marry him, it was reported. A newlywed couple have become the couple with the most short-lived marriage after they divorced just 3 minutes after getting married. Only seconds after they signed their marriage contract in a courthouse, the wife tripped and the groom called his new wife 'stupid' for tripping over. In tears, the bride demanded an annulment. Local media reports that the judge officiating the ceremony dissolved their marriage on the spot.
