The world football's governing body has announced a 10-man shortlist for the for FIFA's 'Best Men's Player' award 2018.
The 10-man shortlist which was announced on Tuesday afternoon features strong rivals, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as well as Mohamed Salah and Eden Hazard

An American woman in Zimbabwe has been jailed for 'insulting' President Robert Mugabe by allegedly tweeting an image of him which suggested he has a catheter from an anonymous account which was still active as she languished behind bars on Saturday. Senator Biodun Olujimi Orders Slapping Of National Assembly Staff Over Lift

Some workers at the national assembly created a scene on Monday, after Biodun Olujimi, senator representing Ekiti south, allegedly asked her aide to assault a member of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN). The lawmaker was reportedly irked by the decision of the PASAN member to ride in an elevator with her. The senator was on her way to the public hearing of the senate committee on petroleum downstream, investigating the N5 trillion subsidy payment to the Nigerian National Petroleum Commission (NNPC). Olujimi allegedly ordered her aide to slap the official. The national assembly staff immediately told members of PASAN who were holding a congress on the second floor of the new wing of the senate. SERAP reports FG and ASUU to the United Nations over the continued closure of Nigerian Universities

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project(SERAP) has sent an urgent appeal to two UN special rapporteurs urging them to “prevail upon the government of President Muhammadu Buhari and the leadership of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to reach an agreement to end the ongoing strike action by ASUU. Zimbabwean Woman Kills Her Husband With An Axe Over Christmas Gift (Photos)

A woman is currently at large after hacking her husband to death with an axe during dispute over Christmas gift. Homicide detectives in Mutare are looking for the woman from Chikanga in Mutare, Zimbabwe, who disappeared soon after axing her husband to death following a domestic dispute on December 24. Anesu Mafokosho is alleged to have axed Vitalis Mudhumo, 26, at around 3pm soon after the couple returned home from the city centre where they had gone shopping. The dispute which ended in the death of the husband was sparked by gifts which the couple had bought for their child for Christmas. According to local reports, the couple's union was experiencing some problems and the unresolved marital dispute was threatening their marriage. Cristiano Ronaldo  has emerged on the top spot of   Instagram Sport Rich List  for 2018 ahead of rivals   Lionel Messi   and  Neymar. According to HopperHQ.com, an Instagram scheduling tool, that analyses data to reveal a list of the highest paid celebrities and influencers on the social media platform, brands will have to pay Cristiano Ronaldo $750,000 per post on his Instagram page. Neymar, Lionel Messi and  David Beckham  and  Gareth Bale  also made it to top of the sporting list. Posts on Neymar and Messi's accounts would be worth $600,000 and $500,000 respectively. David Beckham could charge $300,000 while a sponsored post on Gareth Bale's profile would be a costly $185,000, according to the report.
