American Firm Hoists Nigerian Flag To Honour Employee

American multinational company, Stericycle Inc., recently hoisted the Nigerian flag in honour of a hardworking new employee, Mrs Omolanke Shelle. Thirty eight years old Shelle, an indigene of Ekiti, western Nigeria, works at the company’s facility in Aurora, Illinois, where the Green-White-Green was raised in April. This came barely a month after Stericycle gave the mother of three full-time job on March 17, following the expiration of a temporary employment that lasted for about five months. Her supervisor, Mr John Katchka, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that Shelle was honoured on account of her “attitude, work ethic, ability to learn and team spirit’’. “Ms Shelle came to us via a temporary employment agency during our busy season’’, said in a written response to NAN’s enquiry. “We were impressed by her attitude, work ethic, ability to learn and team spirit. China Test Runs New ₦4.1t Daxing Int'l Airport Ahead Of Official Opening

The test runs, which lasted nearly 6 hours and involved more than 6,000 participants, saw China Eastern airline deploy over 1,100 simulated passengers, 400 pieces of check-in luggage machines, 122 support vehicles and 80 information systems for the trial. A facial recognition check-in facility was also unveiled for the first time.

Nigeria First Lady Aisha Buhari Reacts To Alleged Invasion Of Timi Dakolo’s Residence

Wife of the President, Dr. Aisha Buhari has reacted to the claims by singer Timi Dakolo that “some strange men” made attempts to invade his residence. Igbere TV reports that Dakolo, earlier today, took to his Instagram account to raise an alarm over a strange bus that parked in front of his house. According to Dakolo, the occupants of the bus were armed with guns. The singer posted a photo of the bus – a Toyota Hiace bus — with registration number Lagos BR932KSF. Apparently calling the police attention to the development, which was reported by Sahara Reporters, Mrs. Buhari wrote;  “ATTENTION: INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE  #SayNoToRape  #JusticeForRapeVictims  #SayNoToIntimidation” Igbere TV reports that Timi Dakolo and his wife, Busola, have been the focus of a media sensation that bothers on the alleged rape of his Busola by the presiding Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA.

Canada Government sends message to Igbos living in the country

The Canadian government has sent a powerful message to the members of the Igbo community in the country. Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, Honourable Ralph Goodale, wrote to the Cultural Association of Saskatchewan (ICAS) as they prepare to celebrate their Nigerian-Canadian heritage on August 3. Writing on behalf of Prime Minister Trudeau and the Government of Canada, Minister Goodale expressed pleasure to extend greetings to everyone who will be attending Igbo Day.
