Nigerians Protest At UK Embassy Over $9.6bn Judgement (Photos)

Protesters have stormed the United Kingdom High Commission in Abuja over a court judgement which granted Process and Industrial Development Ltd to take over $9.6 billion worth of Nigeria’s asset.

The protesters, identified as Coalition of Civil Society Groups, began their protest on Monday and have vowed to continue their action for the next one week until the judgement is reversed.

Some of their placards read: “$9.6bn judgement is a fraud,” “Nigeria and Britain are friends, not enemies,” “No to illegal takeover of our national assets,” “Nigeria rejects fraudulent judgment from British judge.”

State College cops who killed Osaze Osagie, a Nigerian student in the United States, have been cleared of all charges. The police officers had implemented the use of force while serving a mental health warrant that resulted in the death of Osaze Osagie on March 20. Fraudster Exposed By Twitter Users After He Shared Photo Of A Sick Child

Scammer exposed by Twitter users after he shared photo of a sick child and asked for financial support  A man tried to scam well-meaning Nigerians by sharing a photo of a sick child and a fake doctor's report in order to get financial support from Twitter users, but he was busted. The man claimed in his tweet that his sick baby was in the hospital and he needed money to pay her bills. At first, a lot of people were sympathetic and were already asking for his account details. But, some people noticed that the photo he used is the photo of a child who has died since. Doctors on Twitter also noticed that the doctor's report was fake and the words scribbled on it made no sense. They went further to check his account and noticed that he just created the Twitter account last week, specifically to scam people.  Twitter users have taken to the fake page to drag whoever is behind it. Nigerian Man Tests Positive For Deadly Coronavirus In US

A Nigerian man has tested positive for deadly Wuhan coronavirus in the United States of America. This was announced on Saturday night by the Mayor of District of Columbia (DC), Muriel Bowser, in a news conference. GLOBAL TIMES learnt that the man whose name is yet to be ascertained, lives in Nigeria and is in his 50s, but had been staying with his family members in Washington recently. According to Bowser, he tested positive in Maryland, where he remains hospitalised. Officials said; “DC Health has been notified by the State of Maryland of an individual who stayed in DC before presenting himself to a Maryland hospital and then tested positive for COVID-19 by the State of Maryland. DC Health is conducting contact tracing of the patient and individuals of known contact. Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has finally been issued a visa to the United States. A family source disclosed this to TheCable on Saturday and confirmed that the former vice-president has left Nigeria for the UK, where he will spend some time before flying to the US. Nigerian Man Catches His White Lover With His Colleague In Germany

A Nigerian man was left shell shocked after catching his White partner with his fellow countryman in their apartment in Germany. The unidentified Nigerian man apparently walked in on his German lover and another man (said to be a Nigerian whom he knows) in bed and went berserk. The man who filmed the incident can be heard shouting at his lover in the video why she brought the man to the house because he went to work. The German woman replied that the house belongs to her and she can do whatever she wants. Fake Passport: Judge remands Ronaldinho Ex Barcelona player in Paraguayan jail

Former Brazilian international Ronaldinho Gaucho was ordered to remain in jail in Paraguay on Saturday after a judge ruled him a flight risk. The ex-Barcelona forward was arrested on Friday for attempting to enter Paraguay with a false passport two days earlier and spent Friday night in a police cell along with his brother and business manager Roberto Assis. The pair asked to be released into house arrest but that was rejected by the judge, who also dismissed Assis’s claims to have a heart problem because he showed no proof. Judge Clara Ruiz Diaz said their alleged offence was a "serious one against the interests of the Paraguayan state". Because the pair posed a flight risk they must remain in custody, she added.
