A baby born with a football-sized cyst on her neck is finally going home after a team of 40 doctors removed the growth from her neck in a gruelling operation. Parents feared the worst when little Bella-Rose Burress was delivered with a growth that was twice the size of her own head. But the one-week-old child has made a full recovery after the meticulous operation in Chicago, Illinois, was successful on August 27. Doctors diagnosed Bella-Rose with cystic hygroma - a collection of fluid-filled sacs - at Ms Pilarski's 20-week scan. At that time the growth measured 6cm but more than doubled to 13cm by the time she was born. A team of 40 doctors battle to cut the cyst from Bella-Rose's neck after her birth last week. Photos: Libyan Navy rescues 199 African migrants including Nigerians at sea

The Libyan Navy has rescued 199 illegal immigrants, including women and children, while attempting to reach Europe by sea. "A Libyan Coast Guard patrol rescued 179 men, 16 women and 4 children on board rubber boats in the middle of the sea," the Information Office of the Libyan Navy explained. The office added that the immigrants were of different African nationalities, including Nigeria. Four of them were from Egypt. The migrants were handed over to the immigration HQ of the Immigration Control Agency after providing them with humanitarian and medical assistance, according to the Information Office of the Libyan Navy.

Nigerian Man Seeking Asylum Kills His Girlfriend In Germany

A Nigerian man, simply identified as Anthony I, who sought asylum in Germany and lied that he was gay and had fought Boko Haram, is on trial in Muenster, Germany for stabbing and killing his girlfriend earlier this year. Prosecutors said the 28-year-old Anthony brutally murdered Soopika Paramanathan, a 22-year-old German student known locally as the “Angel of Ahaus” for her volunteer work with refugees.Anthony attacked Paramanathan on Feb. 11 after she ended their relationship, prosecutors said, he allegedly stabbed her repeatedly with a long-bladed knife in her head, neck and breasts. He was said to have stabbed the lady over 50 times. According to reports, ten wanted Nigerian mafia gang members including women have been arrested by security operatives in France and Germany. It was gathered that the suspects were arrested in co-ordinated raids in Paris, Marseille, Nice and Nancy areas in France and also in Regensburg, Germany. Rotimi Amaechi, minister of transportation, has fired yet another shot at former President Goodluck Jonathan. This comes less than a week after the minister said the time to stop blaming Jonathan had come. Speaking with NAN in Lagos, Amaechi said former President Olusegun Obasanjo left $65 billion in the excess crude account but it was frittered away. WHAT IS EXCESS CRUDE ACCOUNT? It is an account used to save oil revenues above an amount derived from a defined benchmark price. ECA was established in 2004. Its objective is primarily to protect planned budgets against shortfalls due to volatile crude oil prices. Amaechi said the wastage in the PDP era was alarming.
