BUK Expels 22 Students For Examination Mal-practice

The University Senate has expelled twenty two (22) Postgraduate and Undergraduate students for examination misconduct, according to a statement signed by the University Examination Officer, Dr. Yusuf M. Mohammed for Registrar, Fatima Binta Mohammed.

The Senate at its 356th meeting held on Wednesday, 25th October, 2017 upon consideration of a Submission from Senate Committee on Examinations Misconduct and Leakages, approved as follows:-a) The following candidates were expelled for being involved in examination misconduct in accordance with category 4.2(Ai – Xi) and 19:17(Ai – Xi) of the General Regulations Governing Postgraduate Studies (GRGPS) and General Examinations and Academic Regulations (GEAR):

Sabratha vessel of Tripoli Coast Guard managed to rescue 40 illegal immigrants including Nigerians,  from the Mediterranean while on their way to Europe. The rescue operation took place on Saturday north of the city of Zuwara, the Libyan Navy Information Office said. The office added that the migrants were found on board a rubber boat, pointing out that among them were 31 men, 8 women, and a child. U.S. Journalist Jailed In Zimbabwe For Insulting Mugabe On Twitter

An American woman in Zimbabwe has been jailed for 'insulting' President Robert Mugabe by allegedly tweeting an image of him which suggested he has a catheter from an anonymous account which was still active as she languished behind bars on Saturday. Martha O'Donovan, 25, was arrested on Friday morning at her home near Harare, the country'scapital, and was taken into custody on a charge of insulting or undermining the president and trying to overthrow an elected government.Police say that on October 11, O'Donovan tweeted that Mugabe, 93, is a 'very selfish and sick man' and claimed that he was surviving on a catheter. A Virginia bishop who defied warnings about the danger of religious gatherings during the pandemic and vowed to keep preaching “unless I’m in jail or the hospital” died over the weekend after contracting Covid-19, his church said. The bishop, Gerald O. Glenn, 66, the founder and pastor of New Deliverance Evangelistic Church in Chesterfield, Va., died on Saturday night, according to Bryan Nevers, a church elder. Mr. Nevers announced the death of Bishop Glenn during an Easter sermon, which was posted on the Facebook page of the Richmond-area Pentecostal congregation.
