Interpol issues arrest warrant for Diezani Allison-Madueke in UK

The International Police have issued an arrest warrant for former Nigerian Petroleum Minister, Diezani Allison-Madueke following a request by the Federal Government to the agency.

According to reports, the necessary charges had been filed and attached to the extradition request by the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation and by this request, all Interpol member countries were obliged to arrest the former minister anywhere she is seen on their territories.  

Madueke has been in London, United Kingdom for over three years. Attached to the extradition request was the November 4, 2018 order for her arrest by Justice Valentine Ashi of the FCT High Court.  

The court had directed the Inspector-General of Police; the Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Director-General of the State Security Service and all heads of other agencies to apprehend the ex-petroleum minister.

The judge further directed that the order which was signed by the court registrar, E. Balami, should be attached to a warrant for execution on Madueke.

Zambian Government Worker Under Fire After Her Nude Picture Leaked Online

A Zambian government worker is making the rounds  online after her nude picture emerged on social media and has now gone viral. According to reports, the woman who is believed to be a staff at the office of Miles Sampa, the Mayor of Lusaka city, Zambia, sent her bathroom selfie/ nude picture to her lover which was later leaked online.  This has gotten the woman heavily criticised and lambasted by internet users for the embarrassing act.  A lecturer of Clinical Pharmacology at The University of Zambia -UNZA, identified as Larry took to Facebook to warn women about the danger of sending nude pictures to their partners in the name of love. 3 Nigerians jailed in UK for laundering £1m to Black Axe leader in Nigeria

Three Nigerian siblings who were working directly for the leader of the Nigerian Black Axe gang, Augustus Bemigho-Eyeoyibo, have been jailed for a total of 16 years after laundering nearly £1m to him in Nigeria through several UK bank accounts.   Crown Prosecution Service reported on its website that Okemiorukaye Nakpodia, 56, was found guilty of conspiracy to money launder at Woolwich Crown Court. Esther Nakpodia, 35, Unuakpotovo Nakpodia, 46, both pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing.   They laundered the proceeds of hundreds of frauds between 2007 and 2015. Police identified 174 suspicious transactions entering bank accounts. Money from a number of the victims of the original frauds ended up in the defendants’ bank accounts and was then laundered by the Nakpodias. Man Arrested For Robbery In Bayelsa 3 Weeks After Winning N4 Million Lottery

Two men have been arrested for robbery in Bayelsa State during the Christmas celebrations in Yenagoa the state capital. One of the suspects was said to have won a jackpot of N4m from a popular football lottery firm about three weeks earlier, before he was arrested over his involvement in armed robbery. According to sources, the suspect was also a popular member of a cult in the area, Punch metro reports.
