Chinese Factory Worker Miraculously Survives After Being Impaled On Spikes

A 49-year-old Chinese man was working the night shift at a factory when, without warning, a machine malfunctioned, crushing him under a mechanical arm and impaling him on ten spikes; a certain death, or so his colleagues thought.

The porcelain factory worker, known by the surname Zhou, was rushed to hospital in Zhuzhou, southern Hunan Province, last Tuesday by his horrified and desperate colleagues who were powerless to remove the 10 steel spikes which measured 30cm (12 inches) long and 1.5cm (0.6 inches) thick. He was in extreme distress and unable to move his right hand.
One spike penetrated just 0.1mm from the man’s subclavian artery and its accompanying vein which, if severed, would almost certainly have killed him.

Of the ten spikes, six of them pierced his right shoulder and chest while the remaining four penetrated his right forearm and wrist. After an initial examination, he was transferred to the Xiangya Hospital of Central South University which specialises in complicated surgery.

The professor who went naked days ago to protest Brexit (read  here ) has gone naked again during a Brexit radio interview. Dr Victoria Bateman, an Economics Fellow from the University of Cambridge, appeared on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme to talk about the advantages of the EU. During her discussion with presenter John Humphrys, she took off her coat to reveal she was completely naked underneath. She had the words ‘Brexit leaves Britain naked’ scrawled across her chest. During her interview, she invited leave supporters to strip off and discuss Britain’s withdrawal from the EU. A man identified as Engineer Simput Eagles Dafup has been arrested for allegedly converting one Miss Nabila Umar Sanda Galadima from Islam to Christianity on a flight from United Kingdom. Kehinde Olatubosun, 56, from Ibadan, Oyo State, was arrested on Saturday night along with 18 other drug addicts at a joint in Ipodo, Ikeja. 'Rambo' suspect Yves Rausch held in Black Forest after five-day hunt

German police have arrested a suspected gunman nicknamed "Rambo" after a five-day manhunt in the Black Forest. Yves Rausch, 31, is said to have fled into the forest near Oppenau, in south-west Germany, on Sunday after threatening four police officers and taking their pistols. An elite unit, helicopters, thermal detectors and sniffer dogs had been deployed to find him. After his arrest, officers seized four firearms, according to a statement. A postal worker gave police information which helped lead to his arrest and one person was injured during the operation, Germany's Bild daily is reporting. The United States has again warned Nigerian political leaders of severe sanctions if their comments incite the people to violence that disrupts the smooth conduct of the general election. The U.S. ambassador to Nigeria, Stuart Symington, also warned public officials not to be deceived by politicians who may issue illegal directives to them using the name of President Muhammadu Buhari.
