African philosopher, Professor Sophie Oluwwole, has died at the age of 83.
Oluwole who was the first female doctorate degree holder in philosophy in Nigeria, studied history, geography and philosophy at the University of Lagos

State College cops who killed Osaze Osagie, a Nigerian student in the United States, have been cleared of all charges. The police officers had implemented the use of force while serving a mental health warrant that resulted in the death of Osaze Osagie on March 20. According to a the Centre County District Attorney Bernie Cantorna, the officers were in a “life-and-death situation” when they shot Osagie who was approaching them with a 5.16-inch steak knife, Onwardstate reports. Osagie died of multiple gunshot wounds after the confrontation at his apartment on Old Boalsburg Road. Doctor beheaded by boyfriend after she refused to marry him

A junior doctor was beheaded by her boyfriend after she refused to marry him, police say. The boyfriend then tried to take his own life but failed. 26-year-old Shyngys Bekenov, a teacher, proposed to his girlfriend Nazerke Bekzhanova, 21, who had recently graduated from medical university in Kazakhstan. But Nazerke refused to accept the proposal because her parents did not approve of him, it is believed. Angered by her rejection, Shyngys severed his girlfriend's head as they sat in his car. He then tried but failed to end his own life by stabbing himself in the abdomen after writing a suicide note asking that they should be buried together, according to police. His note claimed he had beheaded the woman after she told him she would marry him, it was reported. A man was seriously humiliated after he was caught having sex with a married woman. According to reports, the duo were caught while romping in an uncompleted building. The man who was caught unclad with his married lover, was forced out of the uncompleted building without his clothes on - in a bid to shame him alongside his partner. At least 100 people have been arrested and 80 injured as French police clashed with fuel tax protesters Saturday in Paris.   Thousands of people gathered at the Champs-Élysées in the third weekend of protests against the government over rising fuel prices and taxes. At Paris’ famous monument on the western end of the Champs-Élysées, the Arc de Triomphe, riot police fired tear gas and a water cannon to displace the crowd.   Some protesters had lit fires, thrown rocks and sprayed police officers with yellow paint earlier Saturday morning in an effort to breach the barricades blocking a route to the Elysee Palace, President Emmanuel Macron‘s official residence.
