Agents with U.S. Customs and the Drug Enforcement Administration have seized $18 million dollars’ worth of cocaine disguised as banana heading to a prison in Texas.   According to reports, the Wayne Scott Unit Prison Farm outside of Freeport, Texas, received a couple pallets of bananas as a donation. When two sergeants went to pick up the pallets, they found the drugs.   “One of the sergeants noticed one of the boxes didn’t seem quite right, looked a little further, removed that box off the pallets, looked inside and saw something extraordinarily suspicious,” Jeremy Desel with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice told KTRK.   Hidden under bundles of bananas were 540 kilos of cocaine. I was pondering this morning about murder , you know , with all the disturbing front page articles on murder and the gruesome pictures shown. I started thinking , how can people be so heartless and lacking in empathy to the extent of not just killing a fellow being but doing so in a manner that is savagely barbaric. These murderers must have mental health issues, anger problems or just plain evil built into their DNA. Following this thinking, I began to wonder, but what about abortion, is it murder and if yes, is there a difference between a murderer who kills a grown man or woman, and someone who aborts a fetus. NSE market capitalisation rises by N29bn ON NOVEMBER 7, 2017The market capitalisation of Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) rose by N29 billion on Tuesday following rekindled investors’ confidence. Newsmen report that the market capitalisation rose by N29 billion or 0.23 per cent to close at N12.810 trillion from N12.781 trillion recorded on Monday. Also, the All-share index grew by 82.74 basis points to 37, 013.57 from 36, 930.83 achieved on monday. In all, Investors traded 305.171 million shares worth N2.905 billion in 4399 deals, against 466.522 million shares worth N2.90 billion exchanged in 4, 274 deals on Monday. Total Nigeria led onprice gainers’ chart, appreciating by N5 to close at N229 per share, while Dangote Cement followed with a gain of N2 to close at N229 per share.
