Man, 49, Jailed for two years for having sex with 13-year-old girl

A man who took advantage of a 13-year-old girl when she went missing has been jailed.
Rodell Trennery, 49, from Oldham, England, was jailed for sexual activity with a child. Police described him as a "perverted individual".

"Prison is what he deserves," a detective said after the hearing at Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court on Monday.
The teenage girl was reported missing from her home twice in 2017. The first time she disappeared, she returned home the following day, but on the second occasion, she revealed she had engaged in sexual activity with a man.

Police later discovered that she had been with Trennery, then 48, and he had allowed her to stay at his home on both of the nights she’d gone missing.
Trennery initially denied anything sexual happened between them. He then described "an elaborate sequence of events in an attempt to explain the evidence mounting against him," police said.
Trennery was jailed for two years after earlier pleading guilty to engaging in sexual activity with a child.
After the sentencing hearing, Detective Constable Andy Barrett, of GMP’s Oldham Phoenix team, said:
Trennery is a perverted individual who knew full well how old his victim was when he did what he did. He allowed her to stay at his house where he took advantage of her.
