2017 N-Power list of successful candidates set to be released.

The federal government social intervention scheme, N-Power, has released further guidelines for candidates willing to participate in the scheme. Recall the administrators of the scheme, earlier announced to candidates who registered in 2017 that they would be able to check their status by 11:30 pm today, Monday, 20th November, 2017.

  The sch2ieme has now revealed six (6) steps for candidates to check and confirm if they have been pre-selected for the N-Power volunteer scheme.

 1. Candidates are advised to log on to the N-Power official website @
http://www.npower.gov.ng/n-power/search
 2. Click on “check your pre-selection status”.
 3. Type in your name or phone number or email address or BVN in the search box.
4. Your name will pop up if you have been pre-selected. 5. You will receive an SMS and email congratulating you on your pre-selection.
6. Prepare for physical verification between November 27th and December 8th, 2017. The N-Power Volunteer Corps is the post-tertiary engagement initiative for Nigerians between 18 and 35.

It is a paid volunteering programme of a 2-year duration. The graduates will undertake their primary tasks in identified public services within their proximate communities.

Cops Who Killed Osaze Osagie, Nigerian Student In US, Cleared Of Charges

State College cops who killed Osaze Osagie, a Nigerian student in the United States, have been cleared of all charges. The police officers had implemented the use of force while serving a mental health warrant that resulted in the death of Osaze Osagie on March 20. According to a the Centre County District Attorney Bernie Cantorna, the officers were in a “life-and-death situation” when they shot Osagie who was approaching them with a 5.16-inch steak knife, Onwardstate reports. Osagie died of multiple gunshot wounds after the confrontation at his apartment on Old Boalsburg Road. Two ladies have taken to social media to mock 'Yahoo Boys' and ritualists over the growing pant theft menace which has been rocking the country Nigeria for quite some time now. The cases of stolen underwear are on the increase with many of such stories going viral, just as there are more stories that ladies are now losing their pants at gunpoint. The young ladies were pictured removing their underwear on the road which they claim is 'spiritually fortified' as they beckoned on the pant thieves to come and do their worse. During an interview last month over the pant theft, a lady identified as Akinpelu Boluwatife, said she is now more careful about where she puts her underwear as news of disappearing undies is now common. Man Arrested For Robbery In Bayelsa 3 Weeks After Winning N4 Million Lottery

Two men have been arrested for robbery in Bayelsa State during the Christmas celebrations in Yenagoa the state capital. One of the suspects was said to have won a jackpot of N4m from a popular football lottery firm about three weeks earlier, before he was arrested over his involvement in armed robbery. According to sources, the suspect was also a popular member of a cult in the area, Punch metro reports. The sources, who said they were surprised by the development, noted that they were expecting the young man to use the money he had won to start a business or trade. They added that they were surprised that his N4m was already gone. The two robbers were arrested on Christmas Eve at Swali, a suburb of Yenagoa, near a popular new generation bank in the area. A former student of Makerere University Business School, Arthur Basalirwa, posted a screenshot from a WhatsApp chat, dedicated to a one ‘D” and it read; “Hi D. You will always ask yourself if you had sent me a more meaningful text. These are your last words to me. Goodbye D.” From the screenshots of the WhatsApp chat he shared, Basalirwa seemed to have undergone a rough breakup with his girlfriend. Judgement on P&ID $8.9billion Gas Contract Is A Daylight Robbery – Magu The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has commenced an investigation into the circumstances leading to the $8.9billion arbitral award against Nigeria by a United Kingdom Court over alleged breach of gas contract agreement between it and Process and Industrial Development Limited. This was disclosed by the acting Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu on Friday while playing host to a delegation from the Nigerian Diaspora Commission (NDC), led by the Chairman and Chief Executive, Hon.
