Two Nigerian Nationals Arrested With Fake Indian Currency in India

Officials of the Khanna police in India on Saturday arrested two Nigerian nationals, Nelson Igwe and Nnamdi Andrew. Recovered fake currency from their possession.

Acting on a tip-off, Crime Branch officials intercepted the accused identified as 'Colvin Norman' and 'Gamtoi Cauva' near Doraha bus stand on Saturday afternoon.

On frisking them, the police recovered fake currency of Rs 3.52 lakh of the denomination of Rs 100. They were detained after they failed to give satisfactory answers

‘Gift’ to Obasanjo: Atiku’s son-in-law charged afresh with money laundering

Abdullahi Babalele, son-in-law of Atiku Abubakar was docked today on a new charge of laundering $140,000. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission who brought him before Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, did not state the recipient of the money, but it fits the N50million gift sent by Atiku to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, days before the election. Babalele faces a two-count charge bordering on money laundering to the tune of $140,000.00. He allegedly persuaded one Bashir Mohammed, a Bureau De Change( BDC) operator, to make a cash payment of the sum of $140,000 without going through any financial institution, an offence contrary to Section 18(c) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2011 as amended and punishable under Section 16(2)(b) of the same Act. US President Donald Trump has authorized a US military strike near Baghdad's airport which resulted in the death of Iran’s Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani, the Pentagon confirmed in a statement on Thursday. “At the direction of the President, the US military has taken decisive defensive action to protect US personnel abroad by killing Qasem Soleimani,” the Pentagon said in a statement. “This strike was aimed at deterring future Iranian attack plans. Judgement on P&ID $8.9billion Gas Contract Is A Daylight Robbery – Magu The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has commenced an investigation into the circumstances leading to the $8.9billion arbitral award against Nigeria by a United Kingdom Court over alleged breach of gas contract agreement between it and Process and Industrial Development Limited. This was disclosed by the acting Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu on Friday while playing host to a delegation from the Nigerian Diaspora Commission (NDC), led by the Chairman and Chief Executive, Hon.
