CNN) The discovery of an East German secret police ID card wouldn't normally attract much attention, but things get a lot more interesting when it's Vladimir Putin's. Issued in 1985, the document belonged to the then mid-ranking Soviet officer, now the President of Russia.  At the time, Putin worked for the KGB spy service as a liaison with the East German State Security Service (Staatssicherheitsdienst), nicknamed the "Stasi." From 1985 to 1990, Putin was stationed in Dresden, East Germany. The German newspaper Bild says the ID card found in the archives proves Putin was working for the Stasi, but the Stasi Records Agency (BStU) says it served a purely practical purpose. A Nigerian man, simply identified as Anthony I, who sought asylum in Germany and lied that he was gay and had fought Boko Haram, is on trial in Muenster, Germany for stabbing and killing his girlfriend earlier this year. Prosecutors said the 28-year-old Anthony brutally murdered Soopika Paramanathan, a 22-year-old German student known locally as the “Angel of Ahaus” for her volunteer work with refugees.Anthony attacked Paramanathan on Feb. 11 after she ended their relationship, prosecutors said, he allegedly stabbed her repeatedly with a long-bladed knife in her head, neck and breasts. He was said to have stabbed the lady over 50 times. This is coming after it was reported that a 21-year-old lady, Miss Tawa Oshunuga, allegedly killed committed suicide after her lover of four years, called off their relationship via a phone call. The deceased, a makeup artist, was said to have been shocked after the phone call. She was said to have also drank a sniper insecticide, after she got dumped.
