Police Apprehend Fraud Suspects Who Use Software To Steal From Bank Accounts

The Niger state police command has arrested two suspects who confessed to hacking into banks and withdrawing money illegally.

The suspects, whose names were given as Abdulmalik Usman and Najeeb Saidu, both of IBB Road, Hill Top, Minna, were apprehended by police operatives attached to some banks.

Usman boasted of his ability to access any bank account using just a software. He said: “This is what I know how to do. I just installed the software in the system and it works like a magic; I can withdraw any amount I want.

“The software can be used to withdraw money from any bank in Nigeria and you will begin to make your cool money without police hassles. They (police) don’t even understand how it works.”

Northern City News gathered that the suspects had been involved in the crime for over three years before they were nabbed.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Abubakar said police operatives recovered five Automated Teller Machine cards belonging to different banks, hard drugs and a Command Secondary School identity card from the suspects.

He added that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as the police completed their investigation.

Woman commits suicide by throwing herself before a train with her 3-year-old daughter in her arms after being abused by husband (video)

A 24-year-old woman, who was allegedly harassed by her husband, ended her life by throwing herself before a local train at Bhayandar railway station, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, with her three-year-old daughter clutched in her arms. FG Makes N909 Billion From VAT in 2017

Between October 2016 and September 2017, the federation account received a total inflow of N908.9bn in Value Added Tax receipts from the Federal Inland Revenue Service, figures obtained from the National Bureau of Statisticshave revealed.An analysis of the VAT report obtained from the NBS showed that the amount was collected from 28 sectoral activities during the period under review. A breakdown of the amount showed that the sum of N207.35bn was generated in the fourth quarter of 2016, while the first, second and third quarters of 2017 had N204.77bn, N246.3bn and N250.56bn, respectively. In the report signed by the Statistician General of the Federation and Chief Executive, NBS, Dr. Yemi Kale, the bureau said the manufacturing sector with N115.76bn generated the highest amount of VAT revenue. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is seeking assistance in finding six Nigerians who the United States indicted for fraud. The bureau took to its Twitter handle to solicit help in finding the six men who are wanted for “their involvement in ​business​ email ​compromise (BEC) schemes resulting in over $6 ​million in losses”. “Help the #FBI find ​six Nigerian nationals wanted for their involvement in ​business​ email ​compromise (BEC) schemes resulting in over $6 ​million in losses,” it wrote.
