Nigerian man arrested in India for duping a doctor: Photos

The Police on Wednesday, January 2, arrested a 44-year-old Nigerian man, identified as Nicolas Kujoe, who lives in Angul Railway Station, in Odisha, India, for duping a doctor of Rs. 18.50 lakhs. 
The Police also seized the cash, a passport and a mobile phone from the possession of Kujoe.

According to reports, the suspect had duped one Dr. Mangal Charan Murmu, a pediatrician posted in Sishu Bhawan in Cuttack, on the pretext of providing him medical equipments at cheaper rates. For the purpose, he had taken Rs. 18.50 lakhs in cash from Murmu.
After learning that he had been duped by Nicholas, the doctor filed a police complaint following which the Police raided Angul Railway Station on Wednesday evening and caught Nicolas, while he was trying to flee the town.

Police officials informed that Nicolas had been residing in Mumbai on business VISA since October 2018. 
Further investigation into the matter is underway.

Lionel Messi’s brother sentenced to 30-months in jail for illegal gun possession

Matias, the elder brother of Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has been sentenced for possessing an illegal firearm. The 35-year-old received a two-and-a-half year prison sentence on Thursday, August 16, but instead of doing time in prison, he will undertake community service. According to the report by Argentine newspaper La Capital, investigating prosecutors met before they reached an agreement of Matias not to go to prison any longer. The report added that the firearm was found late in 2017, inside a blood-stained boat which Matias crashed in the Parana River. Matias' lawyer was also said to have argued that his client crashed the boat into a sandbank and denied that he owned the gun. Matias who has has been linked with known criminals in the past, was held for 16 hours in a prison cell in 2015 after officers found an unlicensed 22-calibre gun in his car. He was also arrested In 2008 for allegedly having a loaded gun in his belt.

US Justice Department threatens to sue Harvard University over admissions policies

The U.S. Justice Department has threatened to sue Harvard Universityto force it to turn over documents as it investigates whether the Ivy League school’s admission policies violate civil rights laws.Citing a 2015 lawsuit that charges the school’s affirmative action policies discriminate against Asian-American applicants, the federal government in a letter set a Dec. 1 deadline for Harvard to hand over documents on its admission policies. The Justice Department is probing the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based school’s compliance with Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, according to the letter, dated Friday and seen by Reuters on Tuesday. Oprah Winfrey donates $5 million to the Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta

Billionaire media mogul, Oprah Winfrey on Friday night donated $5 million to the Ron Clark Academy, a private school for gifted black students in Atlanta.
