Nigerian man arrested for scamming two Texas women out of $78,000

A Nigerian man was arrested in Atlanta Georgia last Friday morning in connection to online scams in El Paso County, Texas. 
 
Officials with the El Paso County Sheriff's office said the suspect, Kelly Itive allegedly convinced two women to send him $78,000 over the internet.
 
Police said Itive was posing as a middle aged white man with an engineering background while he was committing the scams.
 
Between April of 2017 and February of 2018, investigators said Itive used fake bank websites to convince the women to send him money and had no intentions of paying them back.
 
Itive is originally from Nigeria and came to United States in early 2017 on a student visa. Investigators said Itive immediately started the scams when he arrived.
 
Itive was taken into custody on Friday morning and will be scheduled for extradition back to Colorado to face charges of Theft and Criminal Impersonation.

Russian President Vladimir Putin's Stasi ID card found in German archives

CNN) The discovery of an East German secret police ID card wouldn't normally attract much attention, but things get a lot more interesting when it's Vladimir Putin's. Issued in 1985, the document belonged to the then mid-ranking Soviet officer, now the President of Russia.  At the time, Putin worked for the KGB spy service as a liaison with the East German State Security Service (Staatssicherheitsdienst), nicknamed the "Stasi." From 1985 to 1990, Putin was stationed in Dresden, East Germany. The German newspaper Bild says the ID card found in the archives proves Putin was working for the Stasi, but the Stasi Records Agency (BStU) says it served a purely practical purpose. Men have been warned to be careful of the ladies they take home from nightclubs or bars following an incident which has gone viral on social media. According to reports, a lady in a bid to rob a man who took her to his home, allegedly drugged him after a drinking spree. It was gathered that the yet-to-be identified lady was already stealing his household items after the man passed out but was caught by the neighbors who saw her in action. The lady was apprehended by the neighbors but rescued by the police who prevented her from being lynched, according to reports. The drugged man had to be dragged out of his home by the neighbors after the lady had been arrested. London (CNN) — A British hacker whose cyberattacks took the nation of Liberia offline has been jailed for almost three years. Daniel Kaye launched a series of attacks on Liberian cell phone operator Lonestar in October 2015, which became so powerful they knocked out the west African country's internet the following year. Kaye, 30, had been hired to carry out the attacks by a senior employee at rival operator Cellcom, Britain's National Crime Agency said in a statement, although there is no suggestion that Cellcom was aware of the activity.
