The U.S. Justice Department has threatened to sue Harvard Universityto force it to turn over documents as it investigates whether the Ivy League school’s admission policies violate civil rights laws.Citing a 2015 lawsuit that charges the school’s affirmative action policies discriminate against Asian-American applicants, the federal government in a letter set a Dec. 1 deadline for Harvard to hand over documents on its admission policies. US appears to back Zimbabwe coup as top official says it wants a "new era"

The United states appears to have thrown its weight behind the military coup which brought Robert Mugabe's 37 year reign to an end. In an interview with Reuters, acting Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Donald Yamamoto said: "It's a transition to a new era for Zimbabwe, that's really what we're hoping for."93-year old Mugabe has not resigned or been formally deposed but Yamamoto appeared to dismiss the idea of Mugabe remaining in a transitional or ceremonial role. South Africa’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Bobby Monroe, has denied reports of Xenophobic attacks in his country. Monroe denied that the attacks in South Africa are xenophobic and targetted at Nigerians. The Commissioner made the comments at a media briefing with Nigeria’s foreign affairs ministry headed by Geoffery Onyeama. Joe Biden teams up with Lady Gaga to set up trauma centers for sexual assault survivors

Former US Vice President, Joe Biden has revealed his new collaboration with Lady Gaga to provide support victims of sexual assault while speaking at Glamour‘s Women of the Year Summit on Monday, November 13 in New York. Biden and Gaga who previously teamed up for the It's On Us campaign back in October, are now looking to open trauma centers for long-term relief. “Women who are abused end up having long-term physical and physiological problems. I’m working with Lady Gaga now we want to set up trauma centers where women can go to get the long-term help they need to deal with these crises. We finally are recognizing the long-term impacts on the health of women andmen who’ve been abused.
