US President Donald Trump has authorized a US military strike near Baghdad's airport which resulted in the death of Iran’s Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani, the Pentagon confirmed in a statement on Thursday. “At the direction of the President, the US military has taken decisive defensive action to protect US personnel abroad by killing Qasem Soleimani,” the Pentagon said in a statement. “This strike was aimed at deterring future Iranian attack plans. In the video, a lady and a man had argument over misunderstanding, the lady slapped the man, the man retaliated and gave her a heavy slap that saw her staggering. Nigerians that saw the video are divided over it. While some are blaming the man for retaliating, others are supporting the man. Some are of the opinion that no matter what, that the man shouldn't have slapped the woman back. Instagram user, Hotdealzdirect said: "It's wrong to slap a woman, no matter what. He is not a gentleman."  Then another Instagram user, Ozzyemmanuel, fired back: "@hotdealzdirect why did she slapped him In the first place?" Lady Caught Stealing After Drugging Man Who Took Her Home From Club (Photos)

Men have been warned to be careful of the ladies they take home from nightclubs or bars following an incident which has gone viral on social media. According to reports, a lady in a bid to rob a man who took her to his home, allegedly drugged him after a drinking spree. It was gathered that the yet-to-be identified lady was already stealing his household items after the man passed out but was caught by the neighbors who saw her in action. The lady was apprehended by the neighbors but rescued by the police who prevented her from being lynched, according to reports. The drugged man had to be dragged out of his home by the neighbors after the lady had been arrested. Facebook user Sandra John shared the video of the incident but didn't give the exact location where it happened.

Nigerians Repatriate £3.27b From UK — World Bank

Nigerians living in the United Kingdom sent £3.27 billion back home in 2017, according to a report by the World Bank. A study researched by the bank has found that Nigeria was the top receiver of cash from the United Kingdom in 2017. Nigeria was ranked the largest remittance recipient in sub-Saharan Africa and the sixth largest amongst lower-middle-income countries. “Remittances to Sub-Saharan Africa are estimated to grow by 9.8 percent from $41 billion in 2017 to $45 billion in 2018. Projections indicate that remittances to the region will keep increasing, but at a lower rate, to $47 billion by 2019,” the report read. “The upward trend observed since 2016 is explained by strong economic conditions in the high-income economies where many sub-Saharan African migrants earn their incomes.
