House of Reps issue arrest warrant against billionaire businessman, Mike Adenuga

A House of Representatives adhoc panel investigating operational activities of service of telecommunications companies In Nigeruia, has issued an arrest warrant against Billionaire businessman and chairman of Globacom Nigeria, Mike Adenuga, for constantly failing to honour its invitations.
At the panel's seating today, the Chairman of the committee, Ahmed Abu, said Adenuga's refusal to honor all of their invitations, is an affront to the legislature. According to Abu, records before the panel showed that Glo owes the Federal Government over N16.7 billion.
Consequently, he asked both the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission ICPC to go after the Glo chief for holding Nigeria's money.
"A situation where the parliament will invite an agency or organization and then it won't come, then we're going nowhere. Some people feel they're too big; that they're above the law. I'm making reference to Mr Mike Adenuga, the chairman of Glo. The amount of disrespect he has for the parliament is unacceptable. Yes, he's a billionaire, but that doesn't mean anything. Anybody can be a billionaire in the right atmosphere," he said.
A member of the panel, Bede Eke said 
"It's not about being a billionaire. Nobody is above the law. Even me sitting here as a lawmaker, I must respect the law. We can also summon the president of Nigeria to this place. I think appropriate action should be taken against the man. I will support any action that this committee will take against him."

SUNDAY ABORISADE and LEKE BAIYEWU President Muhammadu Buhari may be in for another showdown with members of the National Assembly on resumption of plenary in January if the executive fails to release funds appropriated to the federal parliament in the 2018 budget. Some of the federal lawmakers, who spoke with our correspondents on Friday, alleged that the executive arm of government had withheld their money as a form of punishment. The National Assembly increased its budget from N125bn allocated to it in 2017 to N139bn in 2018. Man Arrested For Robbery In Bayelsa 3 Weeks After Winning N4 Million Lottery

Two men have been arrested for robbery in Bayelsa State during the Christmas celebrations in Yenagoa the state capital. One of the suspects was said to have won a jackpot of N4m from a popular football lottery firm about three weeks earlier, before he was arrested over his involvement in armed robbery. According to sources, the suspect was also a popular member of a cult in the area, Punch metro reports. The sources, who said they were surprised by the development, noted that they were expecting the young man to use the money he had won to start a business or trade. They added that they were surprised that his N4m was already gone. The two robbers were arrested on Christmas Eve at Swali, a suburb of Yenagoa, near a popular new generation bank in the area. Cops Who Killed Osaze Osagie, Nigerian Student In US, Cleared Of Charges

State College cops who killed Osaze Osagie, a Nigerian student in the United States, have been cleared of all charges. The police officers had implemented the use of force while serving a mental health warrant that resulted in the death of Osaze Osagie on March 20. According to a the Centre County District Attorney Bernie Cantorna, the officers were in a “life-and-death situation” when they shot Osagie who was approaching them with a 5.16-inch steak knife, Onwardstate reports. Osagie died of multiple gunshot wounds after the confrontation at his apartment on Old Boalsburg Road. A Nigerian lady reportedly lost a job after being photoshopped on a naked body in a tweet which went viral.  The photos was attached to a tweet describing how Marlians will be turning up for Naira Marley's concert which was held last night.  Commenting on the aftermath of the viral photo, Media personality Kimani disclosed that the lady lost the gig because she was blacklisted by the company that wanted to hire her.  She tweeted;  This is rather unfair, knowing this was Photoshopped. Sent this lady's handle to a client yesterday morning only to receive an email just now saying she's been blacklisted. Just coming here now to see this must have been the reason she lost the gig. Kimani also served an update on the action she took. She revealed that she sent in the real photo as an evidence to overturn the blacklisting.
