Santa lookalike robs bank, shouts ‘Merry Christmas’ as he throws stolen money in the air



 David Wayne Oliver, pictured in police mug shots with gray-and-white hair and a full white beard, is being held at the El Paso County jail and is set to make his first court appearance on Thursday, jail records showed.

A man who dressed as Santa Claus decided to rob a bank and threw the stolen cash in the air while shouting ‘Merry Christmas’ at passersby, according to police.

David Wayne Oliver, 65, was arrested at a Starbucks coffee shop after he held up the Academy Bank in Colorado Springs on Monday afternoon, according to a police report.

He is currently being held on a $10,000 bond.
Police said the suspect had ‘threatened the use of a weapon’ and left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Colorado Springs television station KKTV reported that eyewitness Dion Pascale recounted Oliver stepped outside the bank and tossed the money ‘all over the place’.

‘He started throwing money out of the bag’ before yelling, ‘Merry Christmas’, the TV station quoted Pascale as saying.

An American woman in Zimbabwe has been jailed for 'insulting' President Robert Mugabe by allegedly tweeting an image of him which suggested he has a catheter from an anonymous account which was still active as she languished behind bars on Saturday. Martha O'Donovan, 25, was arrested on Friday morning at her home near Harare, the country'scapital, and was taken into custody on a charge of insulting or undermining the president and trying to overthrow an elected government.Police say that on October 11, O'Donovan tweeted that Mugabe, 93, is a 'very selfish and sick man' and claimed that he was surviving on a catheter. ASUU Strike: What Led To The Walkout Of The Union Members During The Meeting

Representatives of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Monday staged a walkout from a meeting with a federal government delegation. The government delegation was led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige. Despite the walkout, Mr Ngige expressed optimism that the strike would soon be called off. The university lecturers embarked on an indefinite strike on November 4, demanding improved funding of universities and implementation of previous agreements with the government.
