US Woman Reunites With Daughter 70 Years After She Was Told She Died In Labour

For nearly 70 years, an American woman Genevieve Purinton believed the baby she gave birth to in Indiana had died in the hospital.

However on Monday, 3rd December, she met that baby girl, now a 69-year-old woman named Connie Moultroup.

“Because she was an unmarried mother, she was told that I had died. She continued with her life not knowing I was still alive” Moultroup said.

Moultroup, who was adopted and raised in California, decided last year to use a DNA ancestry test to look for her birth mother. The two finally met in Tampa on Monday. “It was just a crying fest,” she said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin's Stasi ID card found in German archives

CNN) The discovery of an East German secret police ID card wouldn't normally attract much attention, but things get a lot more interesting when it's Vladimir Putin's. Issued in 1985, the document belonged to the then mid-ranking Soviet officer, now the President of Russia.  At the time, Putin worked for the KGB spy service as a liaison with the East German State Security Service (Staatssicherheitsdienst), nicknamed the "Stasi." From 1985 to 1990, Putin was stationed in Dresden, East Germany. The German newspaper Bild says the ID card found in the archives proves Putin was working for the Stasi, but the Stasi Records Agency (BStU) says it served a purely practical purpose. 18-Year-Old South African Student Commits Suicide After Being Bullied By Teacher

An 18-year-old Grade pupil at Vorentoe High School, committed suicide at her home in Klipspruit, South Africa after allegedly being bullied by her teacher. Nicole Mnguni took her own life on Tuesday, January 8, after returning from the school to fetch her report, which they allegedly refused to give to her. She left a note which details the alleged abuse by the teacher. She also stated she wanted peace and to be with her father. Mnguni is said to have been a victim of harassment and bullying by her teacher, and the school is aware of the case, but had allegedly not taken any action to address the case. Her mother, Jessica Mnguni is demanding justice. Nigerian Man Seeking Asylum Kills His Girlfriend In Germany

A Nigerian man, simply identified as Anthony I, who sought asylum in Germany and lied that he was gay and had fought Boko Haram, is on trial in Muenster, Germany for stabbing and killing his girlfriend earlier this year. Prosecutors said the 28-year-old Anthony brutally murdered Soopika Paramanathan, a 22-year-old German student known locally as the “Angel of Ahaus” for her volunteer work with refugees.Anthony attacked Paramanathan on Feb. 11 after she ended their relationship, prosecutors said, he allegedly stabbed her repeatedly with a long-bladed knife in her head, neck and breasts. He was said to have stabbed the lady over 50 times.
