The year 2018 may be drawing to a close, but one of its most exciting moments is still to come: the Draw for the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019™ will be held on Saturday 8 December 2018! Anticipation is growing among not just the participating teams but also fans from all over the world. Football lovers cannot wait to find out who their country has been drawn against, and in which cities they will be able to watch the matches.
To help the time pass more quickly, and to whet your appetite even more, FIFA.com has started its countdown to the draw. Every day, we are offering a statistic or a piece of information linked to the biggest event in women’s football.
The moment of truth is nearly upon us: only one day to go!
In one day’s time, destiny will have spoken. The players from the qualified teams are just one day away from knowing the identity of their group opponents, before embarking on six months of intense preparation in order to be in the best shape possible for the start of the tournament on 7 June next year. One, as in the event of a lifetime for certain players and teams – such as Chile, Jamaica, Scotland and South Africa – who have qualified for the FIFA Women’s World Cup for the first time in their history.
