Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi's votes in FIFA 2018 best awards revealed

On Monday, Luka Modric brought an end to a decade-long dominance of football’s biggest individual prize, by claiming FIFA’s Best Men’s Player of the Year.

Luka Modric who is a Croatia midfielder, ran out as a resounding winner at the Royal Festival Hall, with 29.05% of the votes.

Captains and managers of nations from around the world were asked to pick three players for the award, and the full list of votes were published shortly after Monday’s ceremony had concluded.

Barcelona forward, Lionel Messi, who surprisingly didn’t make the top three, voted for Modric, Kylian Mbappe and rival Cristiano Ronaldo in that order. Ronaldo, however did not repay the favour, as he voted for Raphael Varane, Modric and Antoine Griezmann.

Ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan has insinuated that a vast conspiracy by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC was partly responsible for his loss in 2015, PoliticsNGR has learned. Victims of domestic violence to enjoy paid leave in New Zealand

Victims of domestic violence in New Zealand will now be allowed to take up to 10 days paid leave from work to try to escape the abuse. This is part of a scheme to address the nation’s "shocking" levels of family violence.  Introducing the scheme, which is the first in the developed world, Greens MP Jan Logie, a member of the ruling Labour-led coalition, said the leave would help victims to move homes or settle children into new schools. She said it would also help to protect victims from abusers, who often stalked them at work or tried to sabotage their careers. Owners of the mansions seized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have been unveiled. They are former governors, ex-ministers, top military officers and businessmen. Leading the pack is a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, who has forfeited some prized assets. Lost to the Federal Government by the ex-Minister are a multi-storey building in Banana Island Foreshore Estate in Ikoyi, Lagos; a real estate comprising six flats in Ikoyi and an estate of 21 mixed housing in Yaba, Lagos. Many properties allegedly linked with Diezani have also been placed under interim forfeiture by the anti-graft commission. A Nigerian lady reportedly lost a job after being photoshopped on a naked body in a tweet which went viral.  The photos was attached to a tweet describing how Marlians will be turning up for Naira Marley's concert which was held last night.  Commenting on the aftermath of the viral photo, Media personality Kimani disclosed that the lady lost the gig because she was blacklisted by the company that wanted to hire her.  She tweeted;  This is rather unfair, knowing this was Photoshopped. Sent this lady's handle to a client yesterday morning only to receive an email just now saying she's been blacklisted. Just coming here now to see this must have been the reason she lost the gig. Kimani also served an update on the action she took. She revealed that she sent in the real photo as an evidence to overturn the blacklisting.
