Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi's votes in FIFA 2018 best awards revealed

On Monday, Luka Modric brought an end to a decade-long dominance of football’s biggest individual prize, by claiming FIFA’s Best Men’s Player of the Year.

Luka Modric who is a Croatia midfielder, ran out as a resounding winner at the Royal Festival Hall, with 29.05% of the votes.

Captains and managers of nations from around the world were asked to pick three players for the award, and the full list of votes were published shortly after Monday’s ceremony had concluded.

Barcelona forward, Lionel Messi, who surprisingly didn’t make the top three, voted for Modric, Kylian Mbappe and rival Cristiano Ronaldo in that order. Ronaldo, however did not repay the favour, as he voted for Raphael Varane, Modric and Antoine Griezmann.

MFM founder Daniel Olukoya, files N10bn libel suit against Omoyele Sowore and Sahara Reporters

The General Overseer, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry, Dr Daniel Olukoya, has filed a N10 billion libel suit against the Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, Sahara Reporters Incorporated and the Incorporated Trustees of Sahara Media Foundation, demanding N10bn in damages for their failure to desist from publishing false and malicious articles against him and his church, MFM, since 2013. In the court papers filed before the Akwa Ibom state High court in Uyo, the senior pastor of MFM said several appeals made by him and his church for Sowore and his news platform to desist from publishing false malicious reports against them had fallen on deaf ears as the news platform has continued in its publications against his church. Supporters of Julie Briskman, who was fired from her job after she was photographed raising the middle finger to Donald Trump's motorcade, have raised more than $61,000 in a crowdfunding effort. A nursing mother in Lagos is seeking help on how to handle her husband who has over the years subjected her to serious domestic violence. According to Twitter user, Monye Morris who shared the story online, the distressed mum visited the Office of the Public Defender in Lagos to seek help. 2 Girls Suffocate In A Parked Car In Kano (Graphic Photo)

The Kano State Police Command confirmed onSaturday that three girls died of suffocation inside a parked car in Sabon Gari area of Kano metropolis. The car has been parked there for more than one year; the girls were playing around it and later locked themselves inside. Apparently, they could not open the door and there was no one around to assist them. Three of them died of suffocation while one survived,” Magaji Majiya, spokesman of the command, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).He said that the incident happened “around 3 p.m. on Friday”. According to him, the girls were aged between two and four years.“The victim that survived has been taken to thehospital while investigation has commenced into the matter,” Mr. Majiya said.
