Grandmother charged with first-degree murder after baby was found stabbed and placed in hot oven

A grandmother has been arrested after her granddaughter was stabbed and placed into a hot oven.
The baby was found on Monday night and Carolyn Jones, 48, was arrested on Tuesday. The Mississipi grandmother is charged with first-degree murder for the death of her granddaughter in Shaw, Mississipi, Bolivar County Sheriff Kelvin Williams confirmed to NBC News on Tuesday.
The victim, 20-month-old Royalty Marie Floyd, was found by a relative who then contacted the Shaw Police Department. Upon arriving at the scene, the police contacted the Bolivar County Sheriff's Office for assistance.
Royalty was living with her grandmother before her death. It is unclear where the girl's parents were at the time.
Jones had a court appearance Tuesday evening and was given a $500,000 bond.
When asked why Jones might have possibly killed her granddaughter, Williams told reporters:
We're trying to figure that out ourselves. We have no idea at this point. Again, we might get some closure once we sit down with the investigator and once they present that to a judge for official charges.

With over nine million Nigerian women said to be pregnant every year, only about 3.6 million have access to antenatal care and about 2.4 million of them tested for HIV. This was disclosed by Head, Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT), Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Ijaodola Olugbenga. He said of the 2.4 million pregnant women that get testing for HIV/AIDS in the country annually, at least 64,000 of them are positive to the virus every year. An airbase housing US and coalition troops in Iraq has been hit by rockets, according to US security sources. The Al-Asad base was reportedly hit by multiple rockets. A Nigerian lady reportedly lost a job after being photoshopped on a naked body in a tweet which went viral.  The photos was attached to a tweet describing how Marlians will be turning up for Naira Marley's concert which was held last night.  Commenting on the aftermath of the viral photo, Media personality Kimani disclosed that the lady lost the gig because she was blacklisted by the company that wanted to hire her.  She tweeted;  This is rather unfair, knowing this was Photoshopped. Sent this lady's handle to a client yesterday morning only to receive an email just now saying she's been blacklisted. Just coming here now to see this must have been the reason she lost the gig. Kimani also served an update on the action she took. She revealed that she sent in the real photo as an evidence to overturn the blacklisting.
