MFM founder Daniel Olukoya, files N10bn libel suit against Omoyele Sowore and Sahara Reporters

The General Overseer, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry, Dr Daniel Olukoya, has filed a N10 billion libel suit against the Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, Sahara Reporters Incorporated and the Incorporated Trustees of Sahara Media Foundation, demanding N10bn in damages for their failure to desist from publishing false and malicious articles against him and his church, MFM, since 2013.

In the court papers filed before the Akwa Ibom state High court in Uyo, the senior pastor of MFM said several appeals made by him and his church for Sowore and his news platform to desist from publishing false malicious reports against them had fallen on deaf ears as the news platform has continued in its publications against his church.

In the court papers, Olukoya said he had earlier demanded that Omoyele and Sahara Reporters pull down all offending stories against him and his church within seven days but they refused. He said having failed to take advantage of the seven days he gave them, he had no other option but to sue them.

The Incorporated Trustees of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries was listed as the first claimant while Olukoya was the second claimant in the suit marked HU/250/2018.
Joined as defendants were Sowore, Incorporated Trustees of Sahara Media Foundation and Sahara Reporters.

Apart from the N10bn damages, the clergyman and his church has asked the court to order the defendants to pull down and erase each of the offending stories from the Internet forthwith, tender a written apology and retraction which must be published prominently in their online news report and in at least three nationally circulating newspapers and two international magazines, including TIME International.

This is not funny I Simon the best blogger always ask that if one church in Nigeria can use N10bn to sue just one person and most of their Church members can't eat 3 square meal per day. Is this what Jesus Christ was like and said in His book the Bible?

Operatives of the Inspector General of Police (IG) Intelligence Response Team (IRT) have arrested a notorious Boko Haram Commander, Abdulmalik Umar, at a nurse's home where he was receiving treatment for a bullet wound in Lagos yesterday December 20th. According to the police, the suspect masterminded the explosions at Nyanya and Kuje in Abuja in 2015, as well as several bank robberies in Ondo, Edo and other southern states. He fled to Abuja three weeks ago when some of his gang members were apprehended. Doctor beheaded by boyfriend after she refused to marry him

A junior doctor was beheaded by her boyfriend after she refused to marry him, police say. The boyfriend then tried to take his own life but failed. 26-year-old Shyngys Bekenov, a teacher, proposed to his girlfriend Nazerke Bekzhanova, 21, who had recently graduated from medical university in Kazakhstan. But Nazerke refused to accept the proposal because her parents did not approve of him, it is believed. Angered by her rejection, Shyngys severed his girlfriend's head as they sat in his car. A Nigerian man named David Ukesone who boarded a flight for the first time in his life, has been hospitalized after being tied with sit belt on a flight from Nigeria to Chicago on the 23rd of January, 2018. WgnTV Reports that Ukesone had never been on a plane before, and it was his first time flying, according to his family. His children said there was no issue on his flight from Nigeria to Dubai. Kenyan Man Attacked By Hippopotamus, Loses Both Legs

Man loses both legs in hippo attack in Kenya. There is rising cases of human-wildlife conflicts in Naivasha, where wild animals have been straying out of their natural habitats in search of pasture and water. Doctors have amputated the legs of a man who was attacked by a hippo in Lake Naivashaat the weekend. The doctors said cutting off both legs under the knees was the only way to save the life of the father of two. The amputation came amid concerns over rising cases of human-wildlife conflicts in the town. Naivasha is home to two major national parks and several animal sanctuaries. Wild animals have been straying out of their natural habitatsin search of pasture and water, especially following the prolonged drought.
