My Visit To 1000-Year-Old Tree & Byzantine Museum In Greece

Monday a beautifully sunny, windless day, I woke up 9:00 a.m. I left my city with my aim (life to travel across the world) board a bus going to Makrinitsa, Greece. The air temperature was 16°C, but there is snow on the mountains.

Makrinitsa one of the most touristy mountain villages of Greece and is famous for its traditional color, its unique architecture and its excellent view towards Volos and the Pagasitic Gulf.

The first thing I did was paying a visit to one of the oldest trees in Europe. Located in the square of Tsagarada in Pelion

According to reports by foresters, the plane tree it is around 1000 years old.

The tree branches are as thick as a tree trunk and the circumference of the trunk measures 14 meters, the crown of the plane tree is so large that it is difficult to measure it. Its perimeter may even be 40 meters.

Tsagkarada Village is a lovely place.

Like my 36 states tour in Nigeria where I visited Museums and holy lands, I left Tsagkarada for Museum of Byzantine Art and Culture of Makrinitsa from 13th-20th century. It serves education programs in schools and universities. To see a lovely exhibition of liturgical art, feature icons, canvas and altar pieces from local masters. Nicely done museum of Eastern Christian art and pieces.

To be honest, I am very impressed of very interesting orthodox christian art. Rare statue of Virgin Mary, uniqueness in Makrinitsa, Greece.

I learned a lot about (churches) christinity, the town and Virgin Mary.

Photos: Libyan Navy rescues 199 African migrants including Nigerians at sea

The Libyan Navy has rescued 199 illegal immigrants, including women and children, while attempting to reach Europe by sea. "A Libyan Coast Guard patrol rescued 179 men, 16 women and 4 children on board rubber boats in the middle of the sea," the Information Office of the Libyan Navy explained. The office added that the immigrants were of different African nationalities, including Nigeria. Four of them were from Egypt. The migrants were handed over to the immigration HQ of the Immigration Control Agency after providing them with humanitarian and medical assistance, according to the Information Office of the Libyan Navy.

Kano APC Crisis: Buhari Summons Ganduje, Kwankwaso To Aso-rock

Ahead of the controversial visit to Kano by Sen. Rabi’u Kwankwaso on Tuesday, the Presidency on Monday summoned Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje and the Senator to avert breakdown of law and order in Kano State. The governor, accompanied by two serving senators and two members of the House of Representatives from the state, met with the Chief of Staff to the President, Malam Abba Kyari at the Presidential Villa. Ganduje, however, declined to speak to State House correspondents after the closed door meeting. PoliticsNGR gathered that Sen. Apple Denies Iphone Sales Ban In China - Phones

US chip-maker Qualcomm claims it has won an injunction against Apple that effectively bans the import and sale of a number of iPhone models, ranging from the iPhone 6S to the iPhone X. The preliminary order, issued by a Chinese court, is the latest in step a continuing feud between the two tech giants over intellectual property. However, Apple says all of its iPhone models remain on sale in the country. The disputed patents relate to software rather than hardware. The injunction affects devices running older versions of Apple’s iOS operating system and not those running the latest version, iOS 12. The court found Apple had violated two of Qualcomm’s patents – one regarding photograph resizing and the other related to how apps are managed on a touch screen. “Apple continues to benefit from our intellectual property while refusing to compensate us,” said Don Rosenberg, general counsel of Qualcomm. Omarosa Manigault, a Nigerian who is director of communications for the White House’s office of public liaison, has resigned. According to sources, Manigault who earns $180,000 per annum will leave the White House on January 20, 2017, exactly one yearafter President Donald Trump took office. It is not immediately clear why Omarosa resigned but the 43-year-old, who recently married John Newman, a Florida-based pastor, has been struggling to keep her job and family. A source said Omarosa’s departure is connected to the “internal war” within Trump cabinet. Her decision raises the expectation of round of departures from the White House going into the New Year. The White House has said that deputy national security adviser Dina Powell will leave her position early next year. At least 14 people have left Trump’s government. Omarosa was the director of African-American outreach in Trump’s campaign.
