China's Mission To Mars 2021: Unveils Spacecraft, Vehicles And Mock Base (Pics)

China has released the first picture of a spacecraft that has been developed to reach Mars.

Beijing aims to land the explorer on the Red Planet in less than two years to celebrate the centenary of the ruling Communist Party.

A picture of the explorer, called 'Mars 1', was published today by the state-owned China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC), Beijing's main space manufacturer.

The craft is seen partially covered by golden sheets while a banner at the front suggests the craft was undergoing its last tests. Four workers are seen working around the explorer.


All teams are now ready for the launch of the probe, which is scheduled to take place next year, the scientist revealed.

U.S. Journalist Jailed In Zimbabwe For Insulting Mugabe On Twitter

An American woman in Zimbabwe has been jailed for 'insulting' President Robert Mugabe by allegedly tweeting an image of him which suggested he has a catheter from an anonymous account which was still active as she languished behind bars on Saturday. Martha O'Donovan, 25, was arrested on Friday morning at her home near Harare, the country'scapital, and was taken into custody on a charge of insulting or undermining the president and trying to overthrow an elected government.Police say that on October 11, O'Donovan tweeted that Mugabe, 93, is a 'very selfish and sick man' and claimed that he was surviving on a catheter. They claim they traced the anonymous Twitter account @matigary, which allegedly posted thetweet, to her address through its IP address.On Saturday, O'Donovan was held in custody after a brief court hearing and she must now wait until November 15 to return to court.Her lawyers say they will appeal for her to be granted bail at the High Co...

Borrusia Dortmund have confirmed that Christian Pulisic has joined Chelsea in a £58m deal. The USA International will move to the Stamford Bridge in the summer after an agreement to stay with Dortmund until the end of the season. Nigerian ‘pirate’ Boss To Be Extradited To The Netherlands

A 27-year-old suspected Nigerian "pirate' syndicate boss, Itoruboemi Benson Lobia, is set to be extradited to the Netherlands for prosecution. According to Timeslive, the move follows a ruling by South Africa’s Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Friday. Lobia was arrested by South Africa’s Interpol branch at the OR Tambo International Airport, in November, 2018, while seemingly fleeing to Mauritius following his most recent attack. The crew of the Dutch cargo ship FWN Rapide was kidnapped in April 2018 while travelling between Ghana and Nigeria, held hostage for three weeks before being released following an intensive negotiation process. The Dutch government has insisted Lobia was the leader of the pirate group, and suspects he may have also been responsible for other similar attacks and running a syndicate with international connections. Lobia said he was hired by the Nigerian army, as a ships security officer, in charge of protecting the Nigerian waterways.
