This is a conspiracy theorist's heaven. He had previously been arrested for sleeping with underaged girls, but he was only given a slap on the wrist (in fact, he was treated like he was above the law). This was way back in the mid 2000s.

Some of the people that were involved in the first case say that they were told to back off because it involved national security/the intelligence services.

Then he was arrested again and there were rumours that he supplied underaged girls to Prince Andrew, Donald Trump and other very wealthy and connected people.

Now he is dead.

Epstein was awaiting trial on sex trafficking and conspiracy charges

Wealthy financier Jeffrey Epstein has been found dead in his prison cell while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, US media report.

His body was discovered at 07:30 local time (11:30 GMT) on Saturday at the facility in New York.

The circumstances of his death are unclear. He was reportedly on suicide watch following an earlier incident.

Epstein, 66, had pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking and conspiracy charges and was being held without bail.

Last month, he was found semi-conscious in his cell with injuries to his neck. He was treated at a nearby hospital, reports say, before being returned to New York's Metropolitan Correctional Center.

Epstein was accused of paying girls under the age of 18 to perform sex acts at his Manhattan and Florida mansions between 2002 and 2005.

He was arrested on 6 July after landing in New Jersey on his private jet.

Who was Jeffrey Epstein?

New York-born Epstein worked as a teacher before moving into finance.

Prior to the criminal cases against him, he was best known for his wealth and high-profile connections.

He was often seen socialising with the rich and powerful, including President Donald Trump, former President Bill Clinton and the UK's Prince Andrew.

Reports of Epstein's wealth vary, with his Virgin Islands-based firm generating no public records.

Operatives of the Inspector General of Police (IG) Intelligence Response Team (IRT) have arrested a notorious Boko Haram Commander, Abdulmalik Umar, at a nurse's home where he was receiving treatment for a bullet wound in Lagos yesterday December 20th. A junior doctor was beheaded by her boyfriend after she refused to marry him, police say. The boyfriend then tried to take his own life but failed. 26-year-old Shyngys Bekenov, a teacher, proposed to his girlfriend Nazerke Bekzhanova, 21, who had recently graduated from medical university in Kazakhstan. A Nigerian man named David Ukesone who boarded a flight for the first time in his life, has been hospitalized after being tied with sit belt on a flight from Nigeria to Chicago on the 23rd of January, 2018. Man loses both legs in hippo attack in Kenya. There is rising cases of human-wildlife conflicts in Naivasha, where wild animals have been straying out of their natural habitats in search of pasture and water. Doctors have amputated the legs of a man who was attacked by a hippo in Lake Naivashaat the weekend. The doctors said cutting off both legs under the knees was the only way to save the life of the father of two. The amputation came amid concerns over rising cases of human-wildlife conflicts in the town. Naivasha is home to two major national parks and several animal sanctuaries. Wild animals have been straying out of their natural habitatsin search of pasture and water, especially following the prolonged drought.
