Unemployed 37-year-old Nigerian woman commits suicide

A 37 year old lady simply identified as Banke, committed suicide last Sunday. According to her friend, Esther Ijewere, Banke slid into depression as everything wasn't working for her.

She was without a job and in a violent relationship before taking a walk. She got fed up with life on Sunday and committed suicide.''She was 37No job Nothing was working Was in a violent relationship for two years before taking a walk She loved life and fought hard to make a living She got tired of life and got very depressed locked herself up in the room on Sunday and took her own life with "sniper" She was my friend Return if possible Banke...

Nigerian ‘pirate’ Boss To Be Extradited To The Netherlands

A 27-year-old suspected Nigerian "pirate' syndicate boss, Itoruboemi Benson Lobia, is set to be extradited to the Netherlands for prosecution. According to Timeslive, the move follows a ruling by South Africa’s Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Friday. Lobia was arrested by South Africa’s Interpol branch at the OR Tambo International Airport, in November, 2018, while seemingly fleeing to Mauritius following his most recent attack. The crew of the Dutch cargo ship FWN Rapide was kidnapped in April 2018 while travelling between Ghana and Nigeria, held hostage for three weeks before being released following an intensive negotiation process. The Dutch government has insisted Lobia was the leader of the pirate group, and suspects he may have also been responsible for other similar attacks and running a syndicate with international connections. Lobia said he was hired by the Nigerian army, as a ships security officer, in charge of protecting the Nigerian waterways.

A former student of Makerere University Business School, Arthur Basalirwa, posted a screenshot from a WhatsApp chat, dedicated to a one ‘D” and it read; “Hi D. You will always ask yourself if you had sent me a more meaningful text. These are your last words to me. Goodbye D.” From the screenshots of the WhatsApp chat he shared, Basalirwa seemed to have undergone a rough breakup with his girlfriend. His friends say that he was planning his marriage, after visiting his fiance’s parents at a traditional Kukyala ceremony. Hours before that, Basalirwa posted to his Whatsapp a status note saying; “I am sorry but it’s too late, I’m sorry, too much weighing on me I don’t wanna live to see another day.” However, these cries for help went unnoticed, with only a simple ‘bambi’ as a comment from one of his friends, until hours later when others learnt about his sudden death. A beautiful woman whose dad was Sicilian and her mum Nigerian, has lamented the fact that racism still exists and she's been a victim. The biracial woman's story was shared via a Twitter handle @mixdgrlproblems. The handle highlights the struggles of biracial people, especially those who feel they neither belong here nor there because they are neither fully accepted by the whites nor the blacks. Libya Coast Guard rescues 16 Europe-bound Nigerians, 24 other migrants from the Mediterranean sea

Sabratha vessel of Tripoli Coast Guard managed to rescue 40 illegal immigrants including Nigerians,  from the Mediterranean while on their way to Europe. The rescue operation took place on Saturday north of the city of Zuwara, the Libyan Navy Information Office said. The office added that the migrants were found on board a rubber boat, pointing out that among them were 31 men, 8 women, and a child. The office explained that the migrants were of different nationalities, including 5 women, 11 men from Nigeria, 15 men, 3 women and one child from Morocco, in addition to 4 men from Egypt and a Syrian. The migrants were provided with humanitarian and medical assistance before being transferred to Tajoura Immigration Centre
